Michael is engaged to Laura Augenblick. They will be married in Charleston, S.C., in April, 2011, but the date is yet to be determined. Michael chose a very creative way to propose. As he and Laura were decorating their Christmas tree, Laura pulled out one of many small ornament boxes and there was the ring. I am not privy as to what happened next but suffice it to say that she said, "YES." We welcome Laura and her family to ours.
Laura and Michael met at Charleston Place Hotel where they both work. Michael is Director of Marketing, Orient Express Hotels, North America, and Laura is the VIP Coordinator. Laura is from New Hope, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the College of Charleston. We had the pleasure of Laura's company on the Outer Banks last summer and Michael cruised the Caribbean with Laura and her parents with her Dad as Captain!
