DAY 4--AT SEA

The sun came out and the weather is warm. We walked around the track for 45 minutes(7 laps is a mile) and went to the gym. John attended a talk on Vietnam by Morton Dean, a former CBS correspondant. He wasn’t impressed. Then he went to a gathering of military veterans. He WAS impressed. He met a Canadian, age 85, who was a participant in the D-Day invasion. John is meeting with him to hear his whole story. John then went to the casino for instruction in playing craps. We will do that one night when we don’t go to bed at 8 o’clock, We went to Mass in formal attire because after Mass we went to Captain Dag’s reception for cruisers getting on in Hong Kong. Captain Dag is at least 6’4” and very handsome in his “outfit.”. There are over 400 staff people and they are always in full uniform dress--very professional group. There is dancing every night and we met one older gentleman who gets a free trip but must be available to dance with the single ladies each night! We ate dinner with a nice couple from New York. I am starting to confuse people and their stories. Name tags would be helpful.

  1. YES, I REMEMBER THE "GENTLMEN" HOSTS AS THEY CALL THEM...WHY DON'T THEY HAVE WOMEN FOR THE SINGLE MEN?
WE HAD CAPTAIN DAG FOR SEVERAL CRUISES...HE IS A MAN OF THE SEA...HAS BEEN ON SHIPS FOR YEARS..
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ALL THE CRUISE HAS TO OFFER...GOOD FOR YOU..
KEEP WRITING YOUR BLOG...WE ENJOY IT...

  2. Hi John and Gail, you both look so stunning. I can see the happiness oozing out of you. I am loving your blog and look forward to each installment. I want to know if the "gentleman dancer" is attractive! I think it is so funny. Gail, you should keep a note book of everyone you meet so you can study it later and keep all their names straight. Don't worry, in a few days you will find your clique and not have to worry about remembering names. Michael and I wish we were with you... xoxo, Laura
